Goons is not a pure PvE guild. Goons is not a pure RP guild. Goons is not a pure PvP guild. We are a little bit of all, with all it's advantages and disadvantages. Goons primarily exists to bring people together, that they may have fun and enjoy the progression in a friendly atmosphere with like minded players. We are the best and largest guild on Defias Brotherhood to date. The reason we have existed for so long is that we don't tolerate selfish and self-centered players who are only in the guild for getting epics. We maintain a friendly and helpful atmosphere and we like to keep it that way. Goons will take care of you - if you take care of Goons - and Goons members take care of each other!
We raid, we make the occasional premade, we arrange RP-events, but we do not demand that you attend to any of them. We are a leisurely guild after all. However when you sign up for any of these activities we expect you to respect our rules and guidelines.
RP-Policy
We insist you actively RP. This means that you will not be Out Of Character in /say or /yell, nor will you emotespam or similar. Our guild-chat is always In Character. Failure to adhere to this point will result in warnings - repeated violations may result in a /gkick.
Patience and Dedication
PvE progress does not happen on it's own, if you wish to be part of our raids, we will require you to come prepared, including all that entails. (Potions and consumables, knowledge of tactics, staying until the raids conclusion, gems and enchants, etc.) We don't want free-loaders expecting to be spoonfed progress for zero effort.
Loyalty
If you have applied to join us, you can't apply for joining any other guild. We expect to be your first and only choice. If you apply here, we want you to apply here because you WANT to be here, not because it's your "last resort" or as a temporary stepping stone or similar. In addition, if we find out that any of our members - old or new - have applied to another guild they are immediately removed without any further ado.
Making the application
Make a new thread containing all the information below. While making the application, take your time, do not rush through it and make a hastily compiled, halfhearted application. Part of the reason why this template is so big, is because we want you to take your time. Try to make everything you say readable and understandable. Make an honest, genuine attempt!
Interview
Once we're done scouring your application, and are satisfied with it's outcome, we will ask you to contact an officer in-game, so that we can arrange an OOC-Interview, an IC-Interview and a chat, so that we can get to see how you are as a person aswell. If the interview goes well, you will be invited to the guild for a three-week probation period.
Sometimes we need some extra time to discuss the applicant with other officers. The process can take any amount of time, upto and including 4 weeks.

Application Template:
---------------------------
Subject: (Full) Character Name - Class and Level
Example: Aurinus von Hambeastel - 80 Paladin
1. Your Characters Background Story
We wish to know a bit more about who your character ingame is. It does not have to be a novel, a few paragraphs are often good enough. We often tend to pick them apart if there are big lore blisters, so you are encouraged to read a bit on the net about your race and class. A very common mistake, is for instance nightelves born in Darnassus, or Draenei born in Exodar. Neither have been around long enough for you to grow up.
2. Please link your armory-profile, and tell us which specc you prefer playing.
If you intend to raid please do this. When linking your armory profile, please try to log off in the relevant gear, to make it easier for both us and you.
3. Which guilds have you been in before - and why did you leave them?
We wish to know which guilds you've been in earlier, and that you tell us a bit about your experiences with them. It's also important that you point out why you left them, and explain why. If you are currently in a guild, we would also like to know if they are aware of the fact that you are applying with us or not.
4. Why do you wish to join us, and do you know any of our members already?
5. Are you mainly interested in PvE, PvP, RP, or just the social aspect?
6.Is the character you are applying with your main character, and do you have other alts on this server?
If the character you're applying with is not your main, would you consider bringing your main to us aswell? If you have other alts on Defias (Apart from bank-alts and similar) please tell us what class and level they are at aswell. You should know, that we generally do not invite alts. Exceptions are made by officers decision. (You are on the other hand ofcourse free to bring any amount of your own alts into the guild once you get accepted.)
7. Tell us a bit about yourself -The person behind the character.
Who are you? Where are you from? How old are you? Do you work? Go to school? Hold a Guiness record? Are you famous? Hobbies? Do you have a fanclub? What's your favourite color? Can you play the ukulele? Have you ever climbed a mountain? The list goes on, and on. Tell us who you are, so we get to know a bit about the person playing the paladin of many colors. In the end, the person behind the wheels is the one we want to get to know after all! (And please don't follow these examples to the letter xD)
8. Have you read and agreed to our Guild Memorandum?
Don't consider this point irrelevant. It may seem tedious, but it is important. It's not a "standard, pregenerated, been-there-done-that" Terms of Use document that follows everything you want to use. We actually enforce this, and we don't want you to go "But I did not know!"
9. Is there anything else you think we should know?
---------------------
Extra questions if you intend to raid with us!
---------------------
10. What raiding experience do you have previously?
Which character you did it with is relatively irrelevant. If you did Naxx on your rogue way back when even though you're playing a shaman who you haven't seen more than Gruuls on, we would like to know.
11. What Talent-build would you use for raiding, and why? Would you be willing to change it to adapt to the guilds needs?
12. Are you able and willing to always arrive fully prepared for any encounter?
This includes all enchants, top-notch gems, potions, flasks and other consumables like foodbuffs and weapon-oils/stones - and most importantly; knowing the tactics in and out for the encounter. Ideally, we want you to have seen videos of what to expect in the fight aswell. It also means that we want you to be willing to enchant and gem up your gear to it's best potential, to the best of your abilities.
13. What does your average weekly schedule look like?
How often can you raid? Which days can you not raid? Which days fit the best? Etc.
14. Are you willing and able to install all required addons, aswell as Ventrilo for effective performance?
A mic for Ventrilo is not required, but a huge benefit.
15. Who is your favourite goon?
Choose wisely!
16. Who referred you here?
How did you find us?
